Coming up Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 12-4 pm is the annual Howling Hund (Dog) Halloween Pawty (Old World Village)! Trick or Treating for the kids & doggies at Old World Village! In addition there will be SMALL BREED DOGGY RACES at 1pm. Fabulous prizes and even a Dog Costume Contest. Your $12.95 donation will help benefit DPOC and will cover your admission & meal. THIS Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 9-4 is the Wings, Wheels and Rotors Expo! This event is a great mix of civilian and military helicopters and aircraft, plus a custom car show featuring classics, muscle cars and more than 300 varieties plus a vendor fair with more than 100 exhibitors selling food and car or aircraft related items. This family event also has games, a kid’s corner and live entertainment. The event is located on the Joint Forces Training Base.

Going on now, Gray Whales migrate annually along the west coast of North America. They can be seen from the Orange County coast from December through early April. NOW through March 4, 2012 the Renowned Terra Cotta Warriors Return To Bowers Museum. With Over 150 Exceptional Chinese Works Of Art Acquired For Use In The Afterlife By Men And Women Of Power, Wealth And Taste. Visitors will see spectacular recent discoveries from the Qin-era imperial tomb of the ruthless First Emperor Qin Shihuangdi including a chariot horse and four terra cotta warriors one of which is the only known warrior with a face painted green. The Tang dynasty was the height of taste and luxury; from the royal tombs and temples of the imperial city of Xi’an is an opulent showing of wealth: gold, silver, and gemstones. Among these treasures is a set of four nesting boxes that once held Buddha’s finger bone and is still considered one of the most holy religious relics.
