This Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 8:00am to 11:00am is A Children’s Halloween Extravaganza ~ Pumpkins & Pancakes (Located in Crate and Barrel / Macy’s Home Store Wing, South Coast Plaza). Enjoy Plum’s Café Gourmet Pancake Breakfast, Petting Zoo, Music, Face Painting, Balloon Artists, Arts & Crafts, Caricature Drawings, Professional Photos, Hair Feather Artists, Surprise Characters, Silent Auction, Opportunity Prizes and More! This event benefits CASA Orange County, CHOC – Children’s Foundation and Orangewood Children’s Foundation. Tickets run $25 – $35. TOMORROW October 29, 2011 from 12-4 pm is the annual Howling Hund (Dog) Halloween Pawty (Old World Village)! Trick or Treating for the kids & doggies at Old World Village! In addition there will be SMALL BREED DOGGY RACES at 1pm. Fabulous prizes and even a Dog Costume Contest. Your $12.95 donation will help benefit DPOC and will cover your admission & meal. This will be such a fun family outing! And for those that want to Oktoberfest later on in the evening, the Oktoberfest will take place at 6:30pm in the Festival Hall! On Sunday the 30th at Oktoberfest, Kinderfest the regular Dachshund Races will take place at 3pm and the theme is HAPPY HALLOWIENER DOGGY DRESS UP! HALLOWEEN DAY is the annual Main Street Halloween Celebration from 4 – 8pm. Free event for children of all ages, this annual Halloween celebration features games, a haunted house, petting zoo, pony rides, activity booths, inflatable rock wall, slide, obstacle course and tunnel, costume contest and more. Children can trick-or-treat along Main Street and enter into a costume contest. Also, feel free to dress up your dog and bring them along, as this event is pet friendly! NOW through October 30th (times vary) is an elaborate yard display in Irvine, BOOT HILL rises from the fog for its 12th year to inhabit the residence at 16 Goldenrod. The unearthly spirits from the old west town of Bridgewood will materialize for SEVEN nights, transforming the residence at 16 Goldenrod into the old church and cemetery that once occupied the land. Come if you dare…but beware the ghost of Jedediah Smith, he has been known to roam through the decaying grounds of Boot Hill. NOW through Halloween from 5:00-9:00pm come and See the newest attraction this Halloween at Newport Dunes. This is A HAUNTING EXPERIENCE on a14, 000 square feet of haunted house fun for all family members. Fun for kids, fun for adults! The event will be located at 1131 Back Bay Drive. NOW through October 31, 2011 opening at 10am is the Irvine Park Railroad – Pumpkin Patch! Irvine Park Railroad’s 5th annual pumpkin patch is fun for the entire family! The pumpkin patch opens daily at 10:00 am beginning September 17th through October 31st. Activities include train rides, hay rides, a haunted house, a hay maze, pony rides, a moon bounce, panning for gold, face painting (weekends only), picture stands, the Orange County Zoo, and a lot more. Admission into the pumpkin patch is free. Prices for all other activities vary. Additional activities inside of the park include Irvine Park Rentals’ paddle boats and Wheel Fun Rentals® bikes (single surrey bikes, deuce coupes, choppers, beach cruises and more), the Orange County Zoo and pony rides. School and group discounts available for Pumpkin Patch tours.


October 29 & 30, 2011 from 10 am – 5 pm you can Trick or Treat at Discovery Science Center! Visit Discovery Science Center during Halloween weekend for a fun, spooky and safe trick-or-treating adventure for the family! Free with admission to museum! Also October 28-30 is the annual BOO at the Zoo from 5:30 – 8 pm!  This family-friendly costumed extravaganza will bring FUN, SAFE, trick-or-treating in a “Merry not Scary” Zoo atmosphere, with educational animal presentations, storytelling, and entertainment throughout the evening, with a grand finale costume parade! For the older kids, we also offer “Teen Scream,” a haunted house filled with thrills and chills. Lastly for the older crowd TONIGHT & tomorrow is the annual Ghosts of Old Orange County Tour starting at 7:00 (gates open at 6:00pm). Come and meet the Spirits from Orange County and California history as they tell stories of how the state and county were formed. You will journey through Heritage Museum’s seven-acre site in this after-dark living history program for adults and children in 3rd grade or higher. The tour will run approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. Admission is $12 per person, reservations are required. An Autumn Meal and warm beverages will be available for purchase, courtesy of the Victorian Tea Society. SUNDAY, October 30, 2011 from 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM is Halloween Fest!  
The night before Halloween, the VP Towne Center suddenly becomes the happy haunting grounds for young ghosts, goblins, a few pirates, some skeletons, and lots of princesses who have escaped from their local castles.
