Fire Danger!  Cleveland National Forest officials announced that because of recent hot weather & dry vegetation, the fire danger level was increased from low to moderate.

 

The Santa Margarita Water District will hold a public hearing Wednesday the 28th at 7pm at its’ headquarters, 26111 Antonio Parkway. The meeting is regarding the environmental impact of proposed Chiquita Water Reservoir project, which would store 266 million gallons of water to supply the area in the event of an emergency. SAN CLEMENTE

Detour:  The entrance to San Clemente State Beach through a pedestrian opening along Avenida Del Presidente has been closed.  The state park is closing that access to build a handicapped-accessible ramp which is part of a $27,000 park upgrade.          

 

Please note: City Council this week approved raising average water rates by 9 percent and sewer rates by 5 percent to offset rising costs in July. Big users will be most affected; under this plan, average household plan will decrease 89 cents per month while average commercial bill will increase $14.52 per month.
