Coming up October 1-2, 2011 is the annual A Harvest of Quilts held at SOKA University. The Flying Geese Quilters Guild presents their 2011 Quilt Show where over 300 traditional and non-traditional style quilts will be on display. It brings together the “best of the best” in quilt making, with aisles of displays, retail exhibits, live quilt auction, antique quilts display, and hours of hands-on workshops. The event is $8 and parking is FREE.

DANA POINT

Coming up October 15, 2011 is the annual Memory Walk at Doheny Beach. This Memory Walk is part of a national movement to help those battling Alzheimer’s and related memory loss disorders. Sunday, September 25, 2011 is the last day for the Pacific Marine Mammal Center Fundraiser. This event is a great organization that rescue, rehabilitate, and release sick and injured seals and sea lions. This event will include a elegant ‘Dinner under the Stars’ at the Aliso Creek Inn. LAGUNA NIGUEL

Tomorrow, September 24th, come enjoy the Walt Disney/Pixar film “Up”. Seating is on a grassy hill. Bring a blanket or low chair to sit on. No pets, smoking or alcohol allowed in the event. There will be snacks, hot chocolate and ice cream available for purchase from Screamin Ice Cream. The movie will begin at dusk, approximately 7:30pm.

Coming up next month, Saturday October 1, 2011 from 10am-5pm is the Mission Viejo Readers’ Festival. This event includes a full day of authors, adult and children entertainment, vendors & food. Featured authors will be speaking, taking questions and signing books.

SAN CLEMENTE

The annual Sea Fest will be held Sunday October, 9. This event is sponsored by the San Clemente Chamber and features a Chowder Cook-off, an Arts & Craft Show, Business Expo, entertainment and an array of fresh seafood, served seaside on the beach in the historic San Clemente Pier area. SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

Tomorrow the 24th of September is the J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center Annual BBQ and Country Faire! This event is a traditional family barbecue in a casual setting featuring live country western entertainment, activities for children, live and silent auctions and riding demonstrations throughout the evening. Country western wear is encouraged! All proceeds benefit the programs of the J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center dedicated to improving the lives of persons with disabilities through horsemanship.
