Sunday, May 8 10:00a to 2:00p will be the Mother’s Day Brunch at the The Californian at Hyatt Regency. Please join us on Sunday, May 8th for a Mother’s Day celebration that the entire family will enjoy. Enjoy a delicious brunch prepared by the resorts AAA Four Diamond Award winning restaurant, The Californian. Dance the day away to the music of a live jazz band and kid’s can indulge in a special children’s corner menu offering fun finger foods the little ones will love.


Sunday, May 8 at 12:00p is the Mother’s Day Brunch at McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant-Irvine. McCormick and Schmick’s is offering eggs Benedict, omelets and baked French toast starting at $10.95. There will also be a children’s brunch plate for $4.95 with scrambled eggs, bacon, and baked French toast with strawberry garnish. All mothers will receive a complimentary Chocolate Truffle Trio dessert. The restaurant is also offering a complementary Mother’s Day Concierge Service on Sunday. Guests making reservations for Sunday will be offered the chance to order flowers to be delivered to their table when they dine. The restaurant will coordinate with local florists. Coming up Saturday, July 16 starting at 9:00am at Los Alamitos High School is the 7th Annual Relay for Life! Join the fight against cancer. Because cancer never sleeps, teams of friends and colleagues set up camp and take turns walking around a track for 24 hours to CELEBRATE cancer survivors, REMEMBER loved ones lost to the disease and FIGHT BACK by raising funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society. Mothers Day, Sunday, May 8 11:00a, The Cannery is offering brunch, lunch and dinner on Mother’s Day. Items offered include crème brulee French toast, a seafood omelet, panko crusted crab cakes, Atlantic king salmon, and aged bone-in rib-eye. Reservations are recommended.


TOMORROW May 7 at 12:00p is the Triple Crown – Mother’s Day Classic – Sponsored by Full Gorilla Apparel. This is the 5th year of the event and 2nd year using the New Fountain Valley Sports Park. This is a great weekend where we can play softball and thank all the mothers in attendance! The event will be played in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach, CA at the new Fountain Valley Sports Park, Huntington Beach Sports Park and local fields. Top team in each age division will receive (per roster) a pro-style custom jersey with 1-color tackle-twill letters and numbers as well as pants compliments of Full-Gorilla.


Saturday, May 7th 1:30p to 3:00p join Bowers Kidseum for a Mad Hatter Mother’s Day Tea Party! Wear your own hat or borrow one from the Kidseum collection. Calling all Lifeguards! It’s that time already! Coming up May 21st, 2011 are tryouts for Ocean Lifeguards. Check-in is at 8 AM @ Lifeguard Headquarters. You must have a valid California Drivers License and diploma or GED equivalent. If under 18, a parent must sign the waiver of liability. Coming up June 5, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. is the annual Tustin Street Fair & Cook-Off (El Camino Real and Main Street). The event features the Chili Cook-Off, craft booths, non-profit food vendors, entertainment, Watermelon Eating Contest, kid’s carnival, music and much more. Admission is FREE. Coming up this summer on June 25, 2011 the Friends of the Villa Park Library (FOVPL) are happy to be putting on the seventh annual Villa Park 5K run/walk, the second annual Progressive Marathon, the first annual 10K, and the first annual interrupted 15K which starts and ends at the Villa Park High School.  Race Day Registration starts at 6 AM, 5K Run/Walk at 7:15 AM and 10K run at 7:55 AM.
