Calling all animal lovers! TODAY through the 17th, 2011 is the Pet Expo (Orange County Fairgrounds 88 Fair Drive)! This event is a giant animal entertainment and education festival. It’s the largest pet and pet product expo in the world. Over 1,000 animals will entertain you in stage shows, competitions and demonstrations including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, rodents, goats, pigs, llamas, rabbits, miniature horses and more. There will also be pet adoptions, pet products for sale, petting zoo, how-to workshops and advice from animal experts. It is presented by a nonprofit organization to promote responsible pet care. Unfortunately, please do not bring your pets.
April 23, 2011 from 8:30am – 11:30am is the Annual Easter Egg Hunt( Fountain Valley Recreation Center & Sports Park 16400 Brookhurst Street). DON’T BE LATE! Or your child may miss the egg hunt. Remember to have a basket or sack for your child to collect their eggs. Parents are encouraged to remain out of the hunt areas so children can enjoy collecting their own goodies. There will also be free Carnival Games, Entertainment, Bounce Houses, Obstacle Course, Crafts, Face Painting, and more! Coming up April 23, 2011 from 9:30am-12:00pm is the Annual Easter Hunt (Huntington Beach Central Park). The Huntington Beach Kiwanis Club and the City of Huntington Beach Community Services Department present the annual Easter Hunt in Huntington Central Park. Bring your kids to this free hunt! Easter hunt, game booths, entertainment, exhibits, refreshments and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Easter Bunny photos, snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase. Tomorrow April 16, 2011 from 10am-4pm is the annual UCI Open House. This spring event features an outdoor Festival, Open House and Car Show. Wayzgoose, UCI’s oldest tradition, is a student run festival in Aldrich Park – filled with live entertainment, food, games and rides for UCI and the community. Many offices and services will be open or available with information for everyone especially prospective students. Now through April 23rd at Irvine Park Railroad (1 Irvine Park Road
Orange, CA 92869) is the Easter Eggstravaganza! At Irvine Park Railroad’s Easter Eggstravaganza, children and adults can ride the train through beautiful Irvine Regional Park. Children ages 2 through 12 can participate in an Easter egg hunt. Each egg is filled with candy or a prize. Easter egg hunts begin daily at 9:00 AM and tickets may be purchased to participate in an egg hunt at a specific time. Please bring an Easter basket for each child that will be participating in the Easter egg hunt. Irvine Park Railroad also offers Easter baskets for sale. Tickets must be purchased on the day of the event in order to receive a wristband for the Easter egg hunt. Calling all Lifeguards! It’s that time already! Coming up May 21st, 2011 are tryouts for Ocean Lifeguards. Check-in is at 8 AM @ Lifeguard Headquarters. You must have a valid California Drivers License and diploma or GED equivalent. If under 18, a parent must sign the waiver of liability. Coming up this summer on June 25, 2011 the Friends of the Villa Park Library (FOVPL) are happy to be putting on the seventh annual Villa Park 5K run/walk, the second annual Progressive Marathon, the first annual 10K, and the first annual interrupted 15K which starts and ends at the Villa Park High School.
