Calling all kids! Saturday February 26th starting at 10:30am will be a Talent Contest for ages 6 to 18 at Walter D. Ehlers Community Recreation Center.The Exchange Clubs are holding a contest for the kids with the most talent. Meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Ehlers Community Recreation Center, 8150 Knott Ave., Buena Park. There are no residence restrictions. Three levels of competition, according to age, and the top finalist in each age category will advance to the regional competition. Finalists will move to the District Exchange Club Convention contest, and the first place finalist in each category will receive $500.


Coming up on Valentines Day, February 14th at the Senior Community Center there will be a bake sale held from 9:30am-2:00pm. Also there will be a Valentines Lunch In held from 10am-1pm.


Starting February 10th through Valentines Day you can order Singing Valentines. Singing Valentines are delivered by members of the award-winning Orange Empire Barbershop Chorus.  To order a Singing Valentine you can call (714) 879-9628.  Proceeds go to music education programs.


Now through February 6th at Garden Grove Park is the Tet Festival.  The event is sponsored by the Union of Vietnamese Students Association, and celebrates the arrival of spring and the first day of the lunar year.


February 6th from 11:00am-11:59pm join Hot Shots Sports Bar and Grill for super Bowl Sunday! Hot Shots Sports Bar & Grill is a popular sports bar in La Habra. The bar has five pool tables, two dart boards, and a juke box. For sporting events, the bar has five big screen TVs and five smaller TVs. Beer served includes: Coors Light, Bud/Bud Light, Miller, New Castle, Heineken, Blue Moon, Shock Top, Fat Tire, and Pale Ale.


Saturday February 12th at 7:00pm the Community Center is hosting a Be My Valentine Dance. Be My Valentine Dance is for students in grades six through eight, from 7 to 10 p.m. at 7821 Walker St. Tickets are $6 in advance, $10 at the door.

The City of Westminster is accepting applications for the 2011 Youth in Government Day, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 23 from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Westminster Civic Center.
