Saturday October 16th at the St. Regis in Monarch Beach join us for a spectacular evening of incredible cuisine, fine wines, silent and live auctions and live entertainment as we raise funds to support critically ill children and their families. There will be a reception & Silent Auction starting at 5:30 p.m. Dinner, Live Auction, music & entertainment will begin around 7:15 p.m. The attire is cocktail (Vintage is even better). Monday-Thursday from 9am-11am or 5:30pm-8:30pm Laguna Beach Unified School District (1085 Laguna Canyon Road) is offering FREE English classes for local adults. You can enroll at the beginning of class.

October 28-30th is the 10th annual Haunted Trails. What’s left of the world in the year 2050? Walk through “Niguel-O-Tropolis” where you will explore cities of the future! Small groups will be escorted by guides weaving through the back alleys of New York City, and experiencing the creatures in San Francisco’s China town, or walking through the subway maze that will take you into Central Park. Watch out for street people, gangs, and New Orleans zombies as you end your visit in the swamp graveyard. The event is held from 6:30-10:30pm and tickets are $10 a person. The urban horror of “Niguel-O- Tropolis” is “Very Scary” and not recommended for children under 8 years of age. Wear comfortable shoes to walk along the trail. October 23 is the 22nd Annual WALK AGAINST DRUGS. The event starts at 8:00 a.m. for a motivational rally featuring keynote speaker: 17 year old Sarah Lonsert. Her accomplishments include being named Singer/Songwriter of the 2009 L.A. Music Awards, recent Grand Prize Winner in the USA Song writing Competition and overcoming autism at Mission Viejo High School Stadium (25025 Chrisanta Dr) There is a food drive, so please bring NON Perishable food items to the Rally for South County Outreach Food Bank. From 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 pm is the celebration fair at the Village Green (24932 Veterans Way). Shuttle Buses will be available to and from Newhart Middle School to Mission High School 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. For entertainment, Mission Viejo’s Got Talent Winner, PKSA Elite Demo Team will perform their winning routine to invigorate the crowd. Afterward, the crowd will walk down La Paz Road through the Oso Creek Trail to the fair at the Village Green. Entertainment includes performances by Sarah Lonsert, PKSA, Alyssa Mimms, Summer Dobbs and much much more!  Fair participants will also be greeted by the 3rd Annual South County Disaster Preparedness Expo: Promise to Prepare!  Hosted by Supervisor Pat Bates, several county agencies will be on hand to discuss and distribute important preparedness information while having fun. October 17th at Santa Margarita Ford (30031 Santa Margarita Parkway) there will be a car wash to benefit the cities adopted Marines battalion from 9am-4:30pm. For more information you can call 949-635-1825.


“A Date with Nature” a free family event is tomorrow October 9 by the Donna O’Neill Land Conservancy and the Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo. It’ll be at RMV’s Amantes Camp. For reservations you can visit or call 949-489-9778


October 29-31 is the Haunted House of Illusions (Zax Studios
33155 Camino Capistrano, Suite B, San Juan Capistrano). Not your ordinary Haunted House, this Magic Show with a Haunted Twist will leaves the hairs on your neck standing up as you try to figure out, “How did they do that?” Tickets are $8 each and will be sold at Sponsoring Businesses throughout the Capistrano Valley. The recommended age range is 8 years old and up. The event is benefiting the Capistrano Unified School District Foundation. For more information you can call (949) 388-5802
