October 31st, HALLOWEEN, at downtown Huntington Beach (301 Main Street) is the Main Street Halloween Celebration. This event is for children of all ages. The event features games, haunted house, petting zoom pony rides, activity booths, a bounce house, costume contest and more! Children 12 years and under can trick-or-treat along Main Street and enter into a costume contest. Also, feel free to dress up your do and bring them along, the event it pet friendly! The event takes place from 5-9pm.
Now through October 31st is Irvine Park Railroad’s (1 Irvine Park Road) 5th Annual Pumpkin Patch open weekdays 10am – 5pm and weekends 10am – 6pm. Tickets are $4.00 each and 12 months and younger are FREE! Irvine Park Railroads Pumpkin Patch in Orange County is fun for the entire family! Come out and enjoy the many activities for kids of all ages. To celebrate the Halloween season, every child that brings a colored Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch coloring page to the train station will receive a FREE Irvine Park Railroad giveaway. McAuliffe Middle School is hosting an Oktoberfest fundraiser on Sunday October 10th from 6-9pm. The festivities will be held at Belmont Brewing Company (25 39th Place, Long Beach). McGaugh Elementary School will be putting on their annual carnival October 23, 2010. The all day carnival features game booths, food, performances and a silent auction offering hundreds of vacations, sports tickets and other treasures. For more information 562-799-4560.
October 9th is the 7th Annual Survive and Thrive Run/Walk Health & Safety Expo held from 7:00am to 12:00pm at the Orange County Sheriff Regional Training Academy (15991 Armstrong Ave). The purpose of this event is to bring awareness, prevention and survival to all surrounding communities while offering resources and services to victims of crime so they may walk away empowered with the tools to survive and thrive. This event is also a fund-raising opportunity for Crime Survivors, Inc. to help support our programs. All proceeds raised by this event will go directly to programs for Crime Survivors, Inc. Registration begins at 7:00 am. Admission Fee: $25 pre registration / $30 day of registration which includes: Shirt, Goody Bag, Medal, Entertainment and Food and Drinks.
