FULLERTON

The city is considering a proposed water cost increase due to expected higher costs in 2008-2009. A public hearing is scheduled for June 17th at 6:30 pm in City Hall. Information – 714-738-6382

 

Volunteers Needed! The 70th Annual Memorial Day Observance will take place at Loma Vista Memorial Park at 10:00am on May 26th. Volunteers are requested to arrive at 8:00am to place over 3,000 flags and crosses at the graves of veterans. Volunteers to remove the flags on May 27th are also requested. GARDEN GROVE

Save the date… 5/28/08 at 3:30pm. Garden Grove High School will hold a public memorial to honor school’s alumni who have lost their lives in war. Michael A. Monsoor, a 1999 graduate and Navy SEAL, sacrificed himself to a live grenade in Iraq to save others. 

 

Please Note – In observance of Memorial Day, City Hall will be closed on Monday the 26th. The city will also not provide normal street-sweeping, but will resume business as usual on Tuesday the 27th.

 

LA HABRA

Save the date… 5/28/08 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. La Habra Pop Warner & Cheer is offering a Challenger division for special needs players this fall and is holding a fund raiser to support this division at the Pizza Club (1279 El La Habra Blvd). Information – www.lhlionpride.com

 

FYI… Council members are reviewing a proposed city budget, which calls for approximately $1.2 million in cuts to combat economic downturn. Also under consideration is to take advantage of state and federal grants, as well as local community sponsorships to minimize impact to city services & programs. Residents are encouraged to fill out a survey at www.ci.la-habra.ca.us to provide input; budget must be approved by July 1st.

 

LA PALMA

In honor of Memorial Day, trash will not be picked up on Monday. City Hall and Placentia Library will also be closed Monday due to the holiday.
